Clean air act8/22/2023 "Primary" standards establish limits to protect public health, including the health of "sensitive" populations such as asthmatics, children, and the elderly. National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), Primary and Secondary - CAA established two thresholds for the six criteria pollutants. The criteria pollutants list consists of ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx), particulate matter (PM10), and lead (Pb). The level of permitting and control technology required on campus air pollution sources depends on whether its geographic region has air pollution below the levels determined by EPA.Ĭriteria Pollutants - six common pollutants found in all communities that come from a variety of sources. To enforce CAA, EPA compares levels of air pollutants across the country to standards it has established as protective of human health and the environment. The federal regulations for implementing these requirements are in 40 CFR Subchapter C, Parts 50-99. The amendments continued to allow the states to implement CAA through their SIPs, but extended enforcement powers to both the states and the EPA. The 1990 amendments also created a permitting program and added additional requirements for other air pollution issues, such as acid rain, destruction of the ozone layer, and air toxics. Consequently, in the 1990 amendments, Congress specified time frames for attainment of these air pollution levels. However, even with these controls, many regions did not achieve the desired levels of clean air. CAA required that each state create a state implementation program (SIP) outlining the controls that would attain these levels. The 1970 Clean Air Act Amendments directed EPA to identify acceptable levels of selected air pollutants that would protect human health. Significant amendments occurred in 1970, 1977, and 1990. The Clean Air Act (CAA) is a series of amendments made to the 1967 Air Quality Act.

Pork chop with bread crumbs8/22/2023 While this recipe calls for pork chops, you can substitute other meats. The Best Cuts of Meat for This Schnitzel Recipe There are endless ways to prepare pork chops from the Crock Pot to the skillet, grill or oven but sometimes you just might crave the crispy, buttery decadence of classic fried breaded pork chops. Placing the cutlets directly on the baking sheet may result soggy breading. If you're cooking the cutlets in batches, place a metal rack on a baking sheet, and keep the cooked cutlets in a preheated 180☏ oven on the rack.Coat all surfaces of each pork chop with. The cooking time may increase a minute or two for cutlets straight out of the refrigerator. Prepare a baking sheet or a glass baking dish by drizzling a little oil on the bottom. Put them in a single layer, uncovered, on a tray in the refrigerator the breading will adhere better. Bake in pre heated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, halfway through baking turn the chops over, and sprinkle with any extra crumbs. If you're concerned about the breading staying on the cutlets, bread them an hour before cooking. The flour will stick to dry cutlets better. Pat the cutlets dry with a paper towel. For less pounding, start out with thin cutlets, no more than 1/2 inch thick. For the fingerling potatoes, slice in half and microwave, covered on high for 6 minutes to soften for speed OR blanch for 6 minutes in boiling water until fork-tender.To ensure your schnitzel turns out well, follow these tips.Pounding the cutlets thinly and evenly will promote even cooking. For the asparagus, wash and microwave for 2 minutes, covered for speed OR blanch in boiling water for two minutes then top with 1/2 tablespoon of butter and lemon zest Pound the pork with a meat mallet to 1/4-in.Dip chops in egg, letting excess drip back into the. Poeme portugais aquarelo do brasil8/22/2023 Next came Xavier Cugat and his Waldorf-Astoria Orchestra, who recorded their first version on 30 December 1941 with vocalist La Chata and chorus singing in Portuguese. On this recording, vocalist Tony Leonard sings in Portuguese. recording of ∻razil was made on 4 September 1941 by pianist and bandleader Eddy Duchin, who had just returned from an engagement at the Cassino de Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. They conversed about the song, and right there it acquired the title ∻razil (see English lyrics). The following day, Disney and Barroso met at a cocktail party given by the U.S. Silveira told him that he could present him the next day. He remembered ∺quarela and asked Silveira if he knew the composer. On the flight from Belém to Rio de Janeiro, Disney discussed the creation of the Zé Carioca character and the kind of song that should accompany it. Silveira asked the musicians to play Brazilian music, and the pianist played ∺quarela do Brasil, reportedly badly. In Belém do Pará, he complained to journalist Celestino Silveira that the hotel band was playing only North American tunes. State Department Good Neighbor Policy mission. In August 1941, Walt Disney visited Brazil on a U.S. Several other recordings, including one by Alves‚ main rival, Sílvio Caldas, followed in quick succession. The six-minute arrangement was too long to fit on one side of a 78-rpm disc and was recorded in two parts that occupied both sides of the single. Alves recorded ∺quarela with Radamés Gnattali and his orchestra in August 1939, and the record was released in October of the same year. In the meantime, the record label Odeon sent a telegram to Ary seeking exclusivity for its own planned recording with the great singing star Francisco Alves, O Rei da Voz. Botelho naturally wished to record the song but couldnt reach Ary, who was out of town. As a result, Aracy recorded another samba, now forgotten, while Francisco Alves gained the distinction of being the first artist to record Brazils greatest song, on the Odeon label.Īry Barroso relaunched ∺quarela on 28 June 1939 in Henrique Pongettis musical revue Joujoux e Balangandãs (with songs by Ary, Lamartine Babo, and Antônio Nássara), where it was sung to great acclaim by the lyric tenor Cândido Botelho in an orchestral arrangement by maestro Radamés Gnattali. The director, used to having his way, was unwilling to commit more than a conjunto regional (a small choro ensemble) to the recording. Evans hated samba and sambistas.Īry wanted ∺quarela do Brasil to be recorded with a full orchestra, and Aracy communicated this condition to Evans. Incredible as it may seem, her rendition passed virtually unnoticed, which led the composer to overlook her when it came time to record what turned out to be his most famous song.Īry picked a namesake of the first singer Aracy de Almeida, who had recently recorded his ∼amisa Amarela to great acclaimto record ∺quarela do Brasil. An RCA Victor artist, Aracy went to Leslie Evansthe much-feared American artistic director of her label, known to all as Mister Evansand told him about the wonderful new samba she wanted to record. ∺quarela do Brasil was first performed in the theatrical revue Entra na Faixa on 16 June 1939 by the popular singer Araci Cortes. In November 1997 it was voted Best Brazilian Song of the Century by a jury of thirteen experts assembled by the Brazilian Academy of Letters.īetter known to the world as ∻razil, this samba has been recorded innumerable times by all manner of artists, from the sublime to the ridiculous.Ĭomposed in early 1939, the song heralded a new genre in Brazilian Popular Music: samba-exaltação, a samba exulting in the beauties of the land. ∺quarela do Brasil is, arguably, the greatest popular song of all times. If you’re not seeing any, go to their page and leave likes and comments on a few recent posts. If there’s a friend or Page whose posts you want in your newsfeed, be sure to to interact with the posts that you do see. Side effects after lumbar puncture8/21/2023 The local anesthetic will sting briefly as it's injected. A local anesthetic is injected into your lower back to numb the puncture site before the needle is inserted.Your back is washed with antiseptic soap or iodine and covered with a sterile sheet.įor an infant or a young child, someone will hold the child in position during the procedure. These positions flex your back, widening the spaces between your vertebrae and making it easier for your health care provider to insert the needle. Usually, you lie on your side with your knees drawn up to your chest, or you sit and lean forward on a stable surface. There are a few possible positions for a lumbar puncture (spinal tap). You may be asked to change into a hospital gown, although in some cases you may have the procedure while wearing your own clothing. Talk to your child's health care provider about whether this will be possible. If a child is having a lumbar puncture, a parent may be allowed to stay in the room in some cases. Your health care provider will talk to you about the potential risks, and any discomfort you might feel during the procedure. What you can expectĪ lumbar puncture (spinal tap) is usually done in an outpatient facility or a hospital. Also, tell your provider if you're allergic to any medications, such as numbing medications (local anesthetics). Examples include warfarin (Jantoven), clopidogrel (Plavix) and apixaban (Eliquis). Tell your provider if you're taking blood-thinning or other anticoagulant medications. Your health care provider will give you specific instructions about food, drink and medications. Your provider may also recommend a CT scan or MRI to determine if you have any abnormal swelling in or around your brain. A detailed neurological examination can also help rule out a significant space-occupying lesion.īefore your lumbar puncture (spinal tap), your health care provider takes your medical history, does a physical exam, and orders blood tests to check for bleeding or clotting disorders. To prevent this rare complication, a computerized tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is often performed before a lumbar puncture to look for any sign of a space-occupying lesion resulting in increased intracranial pressure. Increased pressure within the skull due to a brain tumor or other space-occupying lesion can lead to compression of the brainstem after a sample of cerebrospinal fluid is removed. Bleeding may occur near the puncture site or, rarely, in the epidural space. The pain might radiate down the back of your legs. You may feel pain or tenderness in your lower back after the procedure. Post-lumbar puncture headaches can last from a few hours to a week or more. The headaches are usually present when sitting or standing and resolve after lying down. The headache typically starts several hours up to two days after the procedure and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting and dizziness. As many as 25% of people who undergo a lumbar puncture develop a headache afterward due to fluid leaking into nearby tissues. It's becoming difficult to be treated seriously when I go in because they have seen me so many times.Although lumbar puncture (spinal tap) is generally recognized as safe, it does carry some risks. Is this concerning? I am afraid to go into the er again as honestly they treat me like I'm crying wolf every time I go now. I'm also noticing at times the headache becomes severe almost like a bolt of lightning is hitting the base of my neck through to my forehead. Also my heart feels like it's racing when I have these lightheaded dizzy spells. Now, I'm not complaining as much usual headache is usually much worse, but this one is making me quite lightheaded at times. This weird feeling headache, it's kinda a sharp nausea inducing kind of pain is still lingering. I am hoping to gain some insight on what is normal afterwards vs what I should be concerned about. The reason I am posting is I have noticed you guys seem to have a lot of knowledge about the lumbar puncture process. Went from a feeling like my head was going to pop to more of a raw kind of headache if that makes any sense. I didn't realize how cloudy my vision was until suddenly things were clear again. The Dr said my pressure was elevated slightly, not high enough for a IIH diagnosis though he did remove extra fluid in an attempt to give me some relief. All tests are normal, but had my first lumbar puncture yesterday. I also have decreased hearing and when the headache hits the worst I hear my heartbeat but muffled. It always there in some degree and I've slowly learned to live with it. I have had a really terrible headache for about a year now. Hi everyone, I have lurked on here for a few weeks now.
